Boston Celtics Player Was Reportedly "Throwing Up" During Game 7

Shams Charania (appearing on Stadium) reported that a Boston Celtics player "was throwing up" during Game 7.

On Monday evening, the Boston Celtics were eliminated from the 2023 NBA Playoffs when they lost 103-84 to the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Center Robert Williams only played 14 minutes, and Shams Charania (appearing on Stadium) reported that he "was throwing up during the game."

Charania: "I'm told that Robert Williams was throwing up during the game. He only played 14 minutes last night. He was coming in and coming out of the game. When he would come out, he would throw up. He was dealing with a stomach virus, a stomach bug that he played through. He was sick yesterday, he was sick going into the day, only played 14 minutes and that's a guy that the Celtics have depended on a lot over the course of the last couple of years."

Williams finished the night with eight points, six rebounds, one assist and one block while shooting 4/5 from the field.

In addition to his illness, the Celtics also had their best player Jayson Tatum playing on an injured ankle.

The Celtics were the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and this was their fifth time in the Conference Finals in the previous seven seasons.

That said, they have yet to win an NBA Championship since the 2008 season.

Williams III finished his fifth season in the league with averages of 8.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 74.7% from the field.

Meanwhile, the Heat will face off against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
