Boston Celtics Reportedly Work Out 7-Year NBA Veteran

According to SNY's Ian Begley, the Boston Celtics worked out Glenn Robinson III.

Glenn Robinson III most recently played in the NBA during the 2021 season when he appeared in 23 games for the Sacramento Kings.

The former Michigan star averaged 5.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.

He currently remains a free agent, and (on Thursday) SNY's Ian Begley reported that the Boston Celtics recently worked out Robinson III (h/t HoopsRumors).

Via Begley: "The Celtics recently had free agent Glen Robinson III in for a workout as they look to add to their roster, per league sources. Boston will also work out Louis King (per HoopsHype) & TJ Warren & Lamar Stevens (per The Athletic) this week. Boston has at least 2 open roster spots."

In addition to Sacramento, Robinson — who was the 40th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft — has also played for the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers.

Over seven seasons, the 29-year-old has career averages of 5.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range in 304 regular season games (he has also appeared in 12 NBA playoff games).

Robinson won the 2017 Slam Dunk Contest when he was a member of the Pacers.

As for the Celtics, they are one of the best teams in the NBA and are coming off a season where they were the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

They made the Conference Finals for the fifth time in the previous seven seasons but lost to the Miami Heat in Game 7.
