BREAKING: 10-Year NBA Veteran Reportedly Joining G League Team

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Lance Stephenson is joining the Iowa Wolves (G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves).

UPDATE: The deal is official.

Lance Stephenson most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers.   

That year, Stephenson averaged 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 46 games. 

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Stephenson is now joining the Iowa Wolves (G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves).

Via Scotto: "NBA 10-year veteran Lance Stephenson is joining the Minnesota Timberwolves G League affiliate, Iowa Wolves, league sources told @hoopshype. Minnesota has an open NBA roster spot."

Stephenson played in the G League (with the Grand Rapids Gold) during the 2021-22 season, and he recently had his rights traded to the Iowa Wolves (via the G League's official transaction page).  

Stephenson was the 40th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and has played for the Indiana Pacers (three times), Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans over ten seasons in the league.  

His career averages are 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field and 31.4% from the three-point range in 554 regular season games (he has also appeared in 57 NBA playoff games).  

The best tenure of Stephenson's career came during his first stint with the Pacers when he helped them reach the Eastern Conference Finals in back-to-back seasons (2013 and 2014). 

As for the Timberwolves, they are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 17-4 record in their first 21 games.
