BREAKING: Boston Celtics Reportedly Sign Recent Toronto Raptors Player

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Boston Celtics will sign Dalano Banton.

Dalano Banton was the 46th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Nebraska by the Toronto Raptors and has spent the first two years of his career with the franchise.

On Monday afternoon, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports that the 23-year-old will sign with the Boston Celtics

Charania: "Free agent point guard Dalano Banton has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadum. Agent Aaron Turner of @VerusTeam negotiated the deal."

Banton finished this past season with averages of 4.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field in 31 games.

In addition, he spent time in the G League and averaged a solid 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field in 14 regular season games.

As for the Celtics, they have been among the best teams in the NBA for quite some time.

Over the previous seven seasons, the franchise has been to the Eastern Conference Finals five times (and made the NBA Finals in 2022).

This past year, the Celtics were the second seed in the east with a 57-25 record and defeated the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers in the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs.

They lost to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Conference Finals.

Next year, the Celtics will likely be one of the contenders to win the 2024 title, and last month the team acquired 2018 NBA All-Star Kristaps Porzingis in a deal with the Washington Wizards.
