BREAKING: Boston Celtics Reportedly Trade For Recent NBA 1st Round Pick

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics and 76ers made a trade.

UPDATE: The trade is official.     

Jaden Springer is currently averaging 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 39.0% from the field in 32 games for the Philadelphia 76ers.

On Thursday afternoon, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that he has been traded from the 76ers to the Boston Celtics.

Via Wojnarowski: "The 76ers are trading Jaden Springer to the Celtics for a second-round pick, sources tell ESPN."

Springer was the 28th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Tennessee and is in his third season in the league. 

His career averages are 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.6% from the field and 23.8% from the three-point range in 50 regular season games. 

He has also appeared in nine NBA playoff games. 

The 21-year-old also spent a lot of time in the G League over his first two seasons. 

He is coming off a year where he averaged 19.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals per contest while shooting 49.3% from the field and 31.9% from the three-point range in 24 regular season games. 

As for the Celtics, they are the best team in the NBA with a 39-12 record in 51 games, which has them as the first seed in the Eastern Conference. 

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and are 7-3 over their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 125-117. 

On Friday evening, they will host Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards in Boston.
