BREAKING: Cleveland Cavaliers Reportedly Sign Recent Hawks Player

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Cleveland Cavaliers will sign Sharife Cooper.

UPDATE: Sharife Cooper has officially signed with the Cavs.

On Tuesday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Dallas Mavericks in Ohio.

Before the game (on Monday), Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Cavs will sign Sharife Cooper to a 10-day contract.

Via Scotto: "The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing guard Sharife Cooper to a 10-day contract, league sources told @hoopshype."

Cooper was the 48th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft (out of Auburn) by the Atlanta Hawks.

He played in 13 games for the Hawks during the 2021-22 season.

Cooper has spent a lot of time in the G League and is currently averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range in 19 regular season games for the Cleveland Charge.

While he has limited experience in the NBA, Cooper is only 22-years-old, so he still has a lot of time to develop.

As for the Cavs, they are having a sensational season and are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 37-19 record in 56 games.

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently beat Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards by a score of 114-105.

Jarrett Allen led the team with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Following the Mavs (on Tuesday), the Cavs will visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday evening at the United Center in Illinois.

The Cavs are coming off a season where they lost to the New York Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
