BREAKING: Kevin Durant Made NBA History In Suns-Rockets Game

Kevin Durant made NBA history during Friday's game.

UPDATE: The Suns lost by a score of 114-110. 

Kevin Durant finished with 28 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, one steal and two blocks. 

On Friday evening, the Phoenix Suns are playing the Houston Rockets in Texas.

During the game, Kevin Durant made NBA history by passing Carmelo Anthony (28,289) for ninth on the all-time scoring list

Following Anthony, the next player for Durant to pass will be Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal (28,596).

Durant entered the evening with averages of 28.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 53.5% from the field and 43.7% from the three-point range in 49 games.

He is 35 years old but is still among the best players in the league and made his 14th NBA All-Star Game. 

During Friday's game, Durant also moved ahead of Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing (9,702) for 17th on the all-time field goals list.

Following Ewing, the next player for Durant to pass will be Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins (9,963).

Durant was the second pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Texas and has also spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets over 16 seasons. 

The two-time NBA Champion has career averages of 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 50.1% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range.  

As for the Suns, they are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 33-23 record in 56 games.
