BREAKING: Los Angeles Lakers Trading Patrick Beverley

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Los Angeles Lakers are trading Patrick Beverley to the Orlando Magic.

On Thursday, the NBA trading deadline is at 3 P.M. Eastern Time, so teams are making last-minute moves before time expires.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Los Angeles Lakers are trading Patrick Beverley to the Orlando Magic to get Mo Bamba.

Via Charania: " The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Patrick Beverley to the Orlando Magic for center Mo Bamba, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Beverley had been in his first season playing with the Lakers and is averaging 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.

Since he is 34 years old and the Magic are a young team in rebuilding mode, he will likely be a candidate to be bought out of his contract and hit free agency.

As for Bamba, he was the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft but has had an underwhelming start to his career.

Right now, the former Texas star is averaging 7.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest in 40 games.

The Lakers will get to take a chance on a 24-year-old center who still has the potential to be a good NBA player.

Currently, they are 25-30 in 55 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.

The west has been close, so they are only 2.0 games out of the tenth seed (the final play-in tournament spot).

As for the Magic, they are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 22-33 record in 55 games.
