BREAKING: Los Angeles Lakers Will Reportedly Waive A Player

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers will waive Mo Bamba.

Mo Bamba was traded from the Orlando Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February, and he finished the 2022-23 season with averages of 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.5% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers will waive Bamba (whose $10.3 million salary would have become guaranteed on Thursday).

Via Fischer: "The Lakers are waiving Mo Bamba, according to a league source."

Bamba was initially the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Texas and spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with the Magic.

His career averages are 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 35.9% from the three-point range in 275 regular season games.

At 25, he is still so young that many teams will likely be interested in signing him.

Coming out of college, Bamba was seen as a player with significant potential.

During his time with the Lakers, Bamba dealt with an injury, so he only played in nine regular season games and three NBA Playoff games.

The Lakers finished the regular season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record and defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament to make the Playoffs.

They beat the Memphis Grizzlies (second seed) and Golden State Warriors (2022 NBA Champions) in the first two rounds but lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
