BREAKING: Minnesota Timberwolves Reportedly Acquiring 7-Year NBA Player

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves are making a trade.

UPDATE: The trade is official.   

On Wednesday evening, the Detroit Pistons will face off against the Kings in Sacramento.   

Before the game, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the team is finalizing a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.  

Via Charania: "The Detroit Pistons are finalizing a deal to send guard Monte Morris to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Charania also reported what the Timberwolves will give up to acquire Morris. 

Via Charania: "Timberwolves are sending Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr. and one second-round pick to Detroit for Monte Morris, sources said."

Morris has played in six games for the Pistons this season and is averaging 4.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 36.4% from the field. 

He is in his seventh season in the league and has also spent time with the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards. 

Brown Jr. is averaging 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.1% from the field and 36.9% from the three-point range.   

Meanwhile, Milton has averages of 4.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 26.4% from the three-point range in 38 games. 

The Timberwolves are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 35-16 record in their first 51 games.  

They will play their next game on Thursday when they visit Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.  

As for the Pistons, they are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 6-43 record in 49 games.
