UPDATE: The Knicks officially announced that they have waived Jaylen Martin and Isaiah Roby.

The New York Knicks have gone 1-2 in their first three preseason games and will host the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

Since the preseason is almost over, teams have to make roster cuts.

On Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Knicks will waive Isaiah Roby and Jaylen Martin.

Via Charania: "The New York Knicks are waiving forward Isaiah Roby and two-way G/F Jaylen Martin, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Roby has averaged eight points and 13.6 minutes in preseason."

Roby is coming off a season where he played in 42 games for the San Antonio Spurs and had averages of 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.2% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range.

He was initially the 45th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has played four seasons in the league for the Oklahoma City Thunder (and Spurs).

In 2021-22, Roby averaged 10.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 51.4% from the field and 44.4% from the three-point range in 45 games for the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Martin went undrafted in June and is coming off a season where he played for Overtime Elite and had averages of 14.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest.

The Knicks will play their first regular season game on October 25 when they host the Boston Celtics in New York City.
