BREAKING: Philadelphia 76ers Reportedly Sign Former NBA 1st-Round Pick
On Wednesday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will face off against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
Before the game (on Tuesday evening), Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the 76ers will likely sign D.J. Wilson.
Via Charania: "The Philadelphia 76ers plan to sign former Bucks first-round pick DJ Wilson to a 10-day contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The 6-foot-10 C/F has averaged 19.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Osceola Magic in the NBA G League this season."
Wilson was the 17th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft (out of Michigan) by the Milwaukee Bucks and has played five seasons in the league.
In addition to the Bucks, he has also spent time with the Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors.
His career averages are 4.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.9% from the field and 32.7% from the three-point range in 146 regular season games.
The 28-year-old also appeared in eight NBA playoff games with the Bucks during the 2019 season.
As for the 76ers, they are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 38-30 record in 68 games.
They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
Following their matchup with the Suns, the 76ers will visit LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday evening in California.
The 76ers are coming off a season where they lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
