BREAKING: Utah Jazz Release Former NBA Lottery Pick

The Utah Jazz have waived Romeo Langford, who was the 14th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.

Romeo Langford is coming off a year where he played in 43 regular season games for the San Antonio Spurs.  

The 23-year-old averaged 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 26.2% from the three-point range. 

This summer, Langford signed a deal with the Utah Jazz, but he has now been waived

Via The Jazz: "We have waived guard Michael Devoe, forward Keshawn Justice, and guard/forward Romeo Langford."

Langford was initially the 14th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Indiana by the Boston Celtics. 

Over four seasons in the league, he has played for the Celtics and Spurs.   

His career averages are 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 28.8% from the three-point range in 141 regular season games (he has also appeared in 11 NBA playoff games with the Celtics). 

In addition to his time in the NBA, Langford has also played in the G League. 

Over seven games, he has career averages of 10.6 points, 2.7 rebounds , 1.3 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 21.7% from the three-point range.  

Langford was a highly-ranked high school recruit and is still only 23 years old. 

Therefore, he will be a name to watch, as plenty of teams could be interested in signing him at some point this year. 

As for the Jazz, they are coming off a season where they were the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record.
