BREAKING: Zion Williamson's Status For Timberwolves-Pelicans Game

Zion Williamson has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Louisiana.  

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Zion Williamson has been ruled out

Via The Pelicans: "Jose (Right Ankle Sprain) upgraded to questionable and Zion (rest) ruled out for tonight's game"

Williamson has played in ten games so far this season and is averaging 21.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest while shooting 52.4% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point range. 

The Pelicans are 6-6 in their first 12 games and they are in the middle of a two-game winning streak.  

Most recently, they defeated the Denver Nuggets by a score of 115-110. 

In 33 minutes of playing time, Williamson had 26 points, four rebounds, six assists and two blocks while shooting 10/17 from the field and 1/1 from the three-point range. 

Williamson was the first pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Duke and is in his fourth season (all with the Pelicans).

Last year, he averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 60.8% from the field in 29 games. 

Following the Timberwolves, the Pelicans will play their next game against the Sacramento Kings (at home) on Monday evening.  

As for the Timberwolves, they are 8-3 in their first 11 games, and most recently lost to the Phoenix Suns by a score of 133-115. 

After the Pelicans, they will host the New York Knicks in Monday evening.
