Brooklyn Nets Sign Recent Memphis Grizzlies Player

The Brooklyn Nets have signed Kennedy Chandler and Patrick Gardner.

The Brooklyn Nets have gone 1-2 in their first three preseason games and are coming off a 107-104 victory over the Miami Heat (on Wednesday night in Florida).       

With the regular season approaching, teams around the league are making many roster moves, and the Nets have now announced that they signed Kennedy Chandler and Patrick Gardner.         

Via Brian Lewis of The New York Post: "The #Nets signed guard Kennedy Chandler and center Patrick Gardner."

Chandler spent his rookie year with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, and he averaged 2.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 42.2% from the field in 36 games.   

In addition to his time in the NBA, he played in the G League for the Memphis Hustle and had averages of 16.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 20.7% from the three-point range in seven regular season games (he also appeared five Showcase Cup games).  

Meanwhile, Gardner went undrafted in June, and he is coming off a season where he averaged 19.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest in 33 games for Marist.   

As for the Nets, they are coming off a year where they were the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and got swept by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.   

They will play their first game of the season on October 25 when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers at Barclays Center.
