Chicago Bulls Reportedly Make A Roster Move

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls will re-sign Ayo Dosunmu.

Ayo Dosunmu was initially the 38th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Illinois and has spent his first two seasons with the Chicago Bulls.

This summer, he became a restricted free agent, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he will re-sign with the Bulls.

Via Wojnarowski: "Restricted free agent G Ayo Dosunmu has agreed on a three-year, $21 million deal to stay with the Chicago Bulls, agent Mike Lindeman of @excelbasketball tells ESPN."

This past year, the 23-year-old averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest while shooting 49.3% from the field and 31.2% from the three-point range in 80 regular season games.

He has been an important role player and one of the best guards on the roster over the previous two seasons.

In addition, starting point guard Lonzo Ball missed the entire 2022-23 season and likely will miss all of next year.

During Dosunmu's rookie year, the Bulls made the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season (they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round).

However, this past year was a disappointing season.

The Bulls were the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference and had a 40-42 record.

They beat the Toronto Raptors in their first play-in tournament game (on the road) but lost to the Miami Heat in the following game, so the Bulls missed the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons.

That said, they have an extremely talented roster that features DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.
