Chicago Bulls Rumored To Be Interested In Russell Westbrook

Should he be bought out by the Utah Jazz, Russell Westbrook is being viewed around the league as a potential target for the Chicago Bulls.

Struggling in the Eastern Conference this season, the Chicago Bulls are searching for ways to improve this season's outlook and their playoff chances.

One way in which the Bulls could look to do so is by finding value in the buyout market following the trade deadline on Thursday and one key name to keep watch on is Russell Westbrook.

On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers made a three-team deal with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves that involved Westbrook going to the Jazz along with other assets and key names being on the move.

Upon his arrival in Utah, many around the league are anticipating the Jazz buying Russell Westbrook out of his current $47 million contract, paving the way for him to become a free agent and the best name available to sign with any team other than the Lakers.

According to TNT's and Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes, the Bulls are being viewed as a potential landing spot for Westbrook should he be bought out of his contract.

Chris Haynes: "The Chicago Bulls are interested in signing Russell Westbrook should he secure a buyout with the Utah Jazz, league sources tell @NBAonTNT@BleacherReport.

While this fit is definitely questionable, the Bulls need to make a big move and pairing Westbrook, a nine time All-Star, with other All-Star talents in Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic could be exactly what this team needs, especially if Westbrook is willing to accept a much-lesser role than he is accustomed to.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat are two other teams to keep an eye on in regards to pursuing Westbrook should he become a free agent upon a potential buyout from the Jazz.
