Christian Wood's Viral Post On X Before Pacers-Lakers Game
On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers will face off in Las Vegas for the In-Season Tournament Championship.
The winning team will be the first-ever In-Season Tournament Champion, and each player will get a prize of $500,000.
Before the game, Christian Wood sent out a post on X.
There were nearly 3,000 likes and 180,000 impressions on his post in less than four hours.
Wood wrote: "Win or go home ."
Wood has played in 22 games so far this season and is averaging 6.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field and 26.4% from the three-point range.
The Lakers are 14-9 in their first 23 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and most recently blew out the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 133-89.
In eight minutes of playing time, Wood had four points, six rebounds and two assists while shooting 2/4 from the field.
Wood is in his first season playing for Los Angeles after spending last season with the Dallas Mavericks.
In addition to the Mavs and Lakers, he has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans over eight seasons.
He has career averages of 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 51.5% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range in 311 regular season games.
