Christian Wood's Viral Tweet After Signing With The Lakers

Christian Wood sent out a post on X after signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Christian Wood is coming off a solid regular season where he appeared in 67 games for the Dallas Mavericks and averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 51.5% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range.  

Recently, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Wood signed a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers (which has now been announced by the team).  

Following the news, Wood sent out a post on X that went viral. 

There were nearly 43,000 likes and over three million impressions in less than two days.

In addition to the Mavs, Wood has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans over seven seasons in the NBA. 

The former UNVL star has career averages of 14.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 51.8% from the field and 37.9% from the three-point range in 289 regular season games. 

As for the Lakers, they are coming off a year where they were the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record. 

After beating Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament, the Lakers then eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies (second seed) and Golden State Warriors (defending NBA Champions) in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs. 

However, they lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
