Damian Lillard Made NBA History In Bucks-Pistons Game

Damian Lillard made NBA history during Saturday's game.

On Saturday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks are facing off against the Detroit Pistons in Michigan.  

During the game, All-Star point guard Damian Lillard made NBA history by moving ahead of Jason Terry (5,415) for 56th on the all-time assists list

Following Terry, the next player for Lillard to pass will be Kevin Garnett (5,445). 

Lillard came into the day with averages of 25.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 42.7% from the field and 35.2% from the three-point range in 38 games.  

He is in his first year with the Bucks and has helped them get off to an excellent start to the season.  

They are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 28-13 record in their first 41 games.  

Over the last ten games, the Bucks are 5-5, and they are coming off a 135-95 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Following Saturday's matchup with the Pistons, the two teams will face off again on Monday (also in Detroit).  

Lillard was the sixth pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and is in his 12th season in the league. 

Prior to Milwaukee, he had spent the first 11 years of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers. 

His career averages are 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range in 807 regular season games. 

He has also appeared in 61 NBA playoff games and led the Trail Blazers to the 2019 Western Conference Finals.
