Dennis Schroder's Intriguing Comment About LeBron James' Future At Lakers Exit Interview

Dennis Schroder spoke about LeBron James at his exit interview.

On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers had their season come to an end when they lost 113-111 to the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.

After beating the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors through the first two rounds, they were swept by a dominant Nuggets team (who is now headed to the NBA Finals).

On Tuesday, the Lakers held their exit interviews, and veteran point guard Dennis Schroder shared an interesting comment about LeBron James (who is reportedly considering retirement).

Reporter: "Dennis, last night, LeBron closed his press conference by hinting at potential retirement. Earlier in the season, you told a publication that he told you he was considering playing till 45. Did that comment kind of catch you off guard, or were you aware he was thinking that?"

Schroder: "I can't see that. I don't know what's going on. Maybe it's personal, whatever. I mean, to retire and the last game in the Playoffs, you make 40, ten and nine, I think you still got juice to play a couple more years. So whatever he decides, he played for 20 years, we going to support him, I'm going to support him. Hopefully, he gonna come back."

Schroder was one of the team's most important role players and averaged 12.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per contest during the regular season.

He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

As for James, the four-time NBA Champion has still played like a top ten player in the league but shared very honest comments following Game 4.

James: "I don't like to say it was a successful year because I don't play for anything besides winning championships at this point in my career. I don't get a kick out of making a Conference appearance. I've done it a lot. It's not fun to me to not be able to be a part of getting to the Finals. But will see. Will see what happens going forward. But I don't know. I don't know. I got a lot to think about, to be honest. I got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally, going forward with the game of basketball got a lot to think about."
