Russell Wilson's Viral Tweet After Denver Nuggets Win Game 1
On Thursday evening, the Denver Nuggets won Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat by a score of 104-93 (at home in Colorado).
Game 2 of the series will be on Sunday night back in Colorado before the teams go to Miami for Games 3 and 4.
Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic led the way with a fantastic stat line of 27 points, ten rebounds, 14 assists, one steal and one block while shooting 8/12 from the field in 40 minutes of playing time.
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has been seen at several Nuggets games during the 2023 postseason, and he was in attendance for Thursday's victory.
After the game, the 2013 Super Bowl Champion sent out a tweet with a photo.
The post has over 9,000 likes and 300,000 impressions in less than 24 hours.
Wilson captioned the post: "Best Times. @Nuggets Win!"
Denver is a very strong sports town, and this is the first time that the Nuggets have ever been to the Finals.
They finished the year as the first seed in the Western Conference and have defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers through the first three rounds of the NBA Playoffs.
As for Wilson, he spent the first ten seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks and just finished up his first year with the Broncos.
They had a disappointing year, missing the NFL Playoffs after going 5-12.
That said, they have a talented roster and recently hired Sean Payton as their new head coach.
