Nikola Jokic's Sarcastic Quote About The Suns Went Viral
On Friday evening, the Denver Nuggets will be in Arizona to face off against the Phoenix Suns for Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.
The Nuggets won the first two games of the series on their home floor, so the Suns will likely be extra motivated to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole in front of their home crowd.
On Thursday, two-time MVP Nikola Jokic met with the media and was asked about the matchup.
He gave a hilarious answer that went viral on Twitter (video via Danny Bavaro of ABC15 Arizona).
Reporter: "Do you expect their energy to be up now that they're back in their home court?"
Jokic: "No my friend, I expect that they surrender and they give us the win."
Through the first two games of the series, Jokic has averaged 31.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 51.0% from the field.
The Nuggets finished the regular season as the first seed in the Western Conference and defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round in five games.
They are coming off a year where they lost in the first round and dealt with injuries.
That said, the Nuggets will have an excellent chance to make the NBA Finals if they can remain healthy.
Whoever wins the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals and face off against either the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jokic is in his eighth season in the NBA, but has only been to the Conference Finals one time.
