Derrick Rose Made NBA History In Rockets-Grizzlies Game

Derrick Rose moved up on the NBA's all-time assists list.

On Wednesday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies hosted the Houston Rockets in Tennessee.  

The Grizzlies had control for most of the night and won by a score of 121-113. 

Six players on the team scored in double-digits and GG Jackson II led the way with 20. 

2011 MVP Derrick Rose finished the game with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and one block while shooting 3/6 from the field in 16 minutes of playing time. 

He also made NBA history by moving ahead of D.J. Augustin (3,761) for 146th on the all-time assists list.  

Following Augustin, the next player for Rose to pass will be Ray Williams (3,779). 

Rose is in his first season playing for Memphis and is averaging 8.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range in 20 games.   

With the victory, the Grizzlies improved to 19-36 in their first 55 games, which has them as the 14th seed in the Western Conference. 

They snapped a nine-game losing streak and are now 6-20 in the 26 games they have hosted in Memphis. 

Following the Rockets, the Grizzlies will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks in Tennessee. 

As for the Rockets, they dropped to 24-30 in 54 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.  

Following the Grizzlies, they will visit Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on February 22 in Louisiana.
