Devin Booker's Viral Quote After The Suns Beat The Mavs

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker met with the media after they beat the Dallas Mavericks.

On Sunday afternoon, the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks faced off in Texas.

The Suns won 130-126, and at the end of the game, things got heated between star players Devin Booker and Luka Doncic.

After the win, Booker met with the media, and was asked about what happened (video via Duane Rankin of azcentral).

Booker: "You guys say you don't want everybody to be friendly friendly. There you go. We got some smoke."

Reporter: "Do you think that traces back to the playoffs last year?"

Booker: "Yeah, it's just two competitors going at it. Everybody speaks on how friendly the NBA is now and don't like that. I have no problem with Luka on or off the court, but when we're competing, we're competing.

The Suns and Mavs faced off in the second round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, and the Mavs won the series in a Game 7 blowout 123-90 (in Arizona).

Booker finished Sunday's game with 36 points, five rebounds, ten assists and one steal.

Meanwhile, Doncic put up 34 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

With the victory, the Suns improved to 36-29 in 65 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and are 7-3 in their last ten games.

As for the Mavs, they are now 33-32 in 65 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the west (4-6 in their last ten games).

Sunday's game was the final matchup of the season between the two teams (they both went 2-2).
