Dillon Brooks' Honest Statement After Rockets-Grizzlies Game

Dillon Brooks met with the media after the Houston Rockets beat the Memphis Grizzlies.

On Friday evening, the Houston Rockets faced off against the Memphis Grizzlies in Tennessee. 

The Rockets won the game by a score of 103-96, and Dillon Brooks led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal while shooting 10/20 from the field in 40 minutes of playing time.  

He spent the first six seasons of his career with Memphis before signing with the Rockets over the offseason, so this was his first game back in the arena. 

After the game, Brooks met with the media and shared an honest statement (YouTube clip via ESPN). 

Brooks: "I don't want to lose to Memphis ever in my career. Regardless of how we get it. If I go get 20 or if I have zero points. I want to win every single time we play Memphis. Just to let them know that they made a little mistake."

Brooks is now averaging 13.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field and 38.8% from the three-point range in his first 22 games with Houston. 

With the victory, the team improved to 13-9 in 22 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and in the middle of a five-game winning streak. 

Following the Grizzlies, the Rockets will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin. 

As for the Grizzlies, they fell to 6-18 in their first 24 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
