Willie Cauley-Stein was the sixth pick in the 2015 NBA Draft (out of Kentucky) by the Sacramento Kings.

He has had a solid pro-career and most recently played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks in 2021-22.

So far this year, the 29-year-old has played in 26 G League games, and on Monday, Shams Charania and Kelly Iko of The Athletic report that he is going to sign a ten-day contract with the Houston Rockets.

Via Charania: "The Houston Rockets are planning to sign center Willie Cauley-Stein to a 10-day contract, sources tell me and @KellyIko. Cauley-Stein, a seven-year NBA veteran, has spent the season with Rockets‘ Rio Grande Valley G League affiliate."

During the offseason, he had signed with the Rockets but was waived before the season.

Right now, the team is in rebuilding mode and has a 13-47 record in 60 games (they are the 15th seed in the Western Conference).

Cauley-Stein is averaging 9.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest in the G League regular season.

In addition to the Kings, Mavs and 76ers, he has also played for the Golden State Warriors.

His career averages are 8.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest in 422 regular season games (while shooting 54.4% from the field).

During the 2020-21 season, Cauley-Stein played in six NBA Playoff games for the Mavs.

The Rockets will play their next game Tuesday evening when they host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Texas.
