Former NBA 2nd Overall Pick Reportedly Traded In Wizards-Pistons Deal

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards have made a trade.

UPDATE: The trade between the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons is official. 

The NBA trading deadline is in less than one month (February 8), so a lot of deals will likely take place in the coming weeks.   

On Sunday morning, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons made a four-player trade.  

Via Wojnarowski: "The Pistons and Wizards are finalizing a deal to trade Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers, and two second-round picks for forwards Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala, sources tell ESPN."

Bagley was the second pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, and is averaging 10.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest.  

Meanwhile, Livers was the 42nd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and is averaging 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest.   

The Wizards are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 7-31 record in their first 38 games. 

They are 2-8 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 127-99 (in Georgia).

Danilo Gallinari is in his 14th season playing in the NBA and is averaging 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest.  

As for Muscala, he is in his 11th season in the league and is averaging 4.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. 

The Pistons are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 3-36 record in their first 39 games. 

They are in the middle of a seven-game losing streak and are 1-9 over their last ten games.
