Giannis Antetokounmpo Made NBA History In 76ers-Bucks Game

Giannis Antetokounmpo moved up on the NBA's all-time rebounding list.

On Thursday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers for their first game of the 2023-24 regular season.

During the game, Giannis Antetokounmpo moved up on the NBA's all-time rebounding list.

He came into the night with 6,891 rebounds, which was tied with NBA Champion Antoine Walker for 124th all-time.

With his first rebound of the game, Antetokounmpo moved ahead of Walker for sole possession for 124th place on the list.

The following player for Antetokounmpo to pass will be Rudy LaRusso (6,936).

Antetokounmpo has already become one of the 50 best players ever and is coming off a year where he averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per contest while shooting 55.3% from the field.

The 28-year-old was the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and is in his 11th season in the league (all with the Bucks).

His career averages are 22.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 53.7% from the field in 719 regular season games.

The Bucks are coming off a year where they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA (58-24).

However, they lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.

The franchise has been to the playoffs for seven straight seasons and won the 2021 NBA Championship over the Phoenix Suns.

In addition, they traded for All-Star Damian Lillard over the offseason, so they will have an excellent chance to return to the NBA Finals in 2024.

Following the 76ers, the Bucks will play their next game on Sunday when they host the Atlanta Hawks.
