OFFICIAL: Golden State Warriors Finalize 4-Team Trade

The Golden State Warriors have made their four-team trade with the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers official.

On Thursday, the NBA trading deadline wrapped up at 3 P.M. Eastern Time, and there were tons of deals being reported all day.

Now, trades are starting to become finalized and the Golden State Warriors (28-27) have officially announced their four-team trade with the Detroit Pistons (14-42), Atlanta Hawks (28-28) and Portland Trail Blazers (27-28).

The Four-Team Deal:

  • Warriors receive: Gary Payton II and two second-round picks
  • Pistons receive: James Wiseman
  • Hawks receive: Saddiq Bey
  • Trail Blazers receive: Kevin Knox and five second-round picks

The deal is extra noteworthy because the Warriors moved on from 2020 second-overall pick James Wiseman.

He has had an up-and-down start to his pro career, and this season is averaging 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest in 21 games.

Last season, the 21-year-old missed the entire year due to injury.

It's an excellent addition for the Pistons because they are in rebuilding mode and can give him opportunities that the Warriors (who are contenders) cannot.

The Warriors are also getting Payton II back, who helped them win the 2022 NBA Championship.

He is currently averaging 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

During the 2021-22 season, he played in 71 regular season games (and 12 NBA Playoff games) for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers get former ninth-overall pick Kevin Knox and a haul of second-round picks.

As for the Hawks, they receive a 23-year-old who is averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals per contest.
