Golden State Warriors Reveal "Plan" For Jordan Poole

Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. spoke about Jordan Poole.

Recently, Mike Dunleavy Jr. was elevated to general manager of the Golden State Warriors following the departure of long-time President of Basketball Operations, Bob Myers.

The Warriors have won the NBA Championship four times (and been to the NBA Finals six times) over the previous nine seasons.

Therefore, the 42-year-old is taking over one of the most high-profile teams in league history.

This past season, the Warriors lost in the second round of the Playoffs to the Los Angles Lakers (in six games) and looked less dominant than they have in years past.

With four-time NBA Champion Draymond Green approaching free agency and other holes on the roster, this has the potential to be an eventful summer for the franchise.

On Monday, Dunleavy Jr. met with the media and was asked about recent trade rumors surrounding Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga.

Poole is especially noteworthy because he averaged 20.4 points per contest during the regular season but struggled in the Playoffs.

In addition, the former Michigan star will enter the first year of a massive contract extension at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Via Dunleavy Jr.: "We love having those guys here. Jordan, especially with his contract extension, we plan to have him here for four more years, at least."

In addition to his solid regular season, Poole played in every single game this year (including the NBA Playoffs).

He was the 28th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career (four seasons) with the Warriors.
