Golden State Warriors Reportedly Discussing A Trade For A Former 1st-Round Pick

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports!, the Golden State Warriors are discussing a trade with the Detroit Pistons.

On Thursday, the NBA trading deadline is at 3 P.M. Eastern Time, and the deals around the league are being reported very quickly.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports!, the Golden State Warriors are in discussions with the Detroit Pistons for former first-round pick Saddiq Bey.

Via Fischer's first tweet: "Golden State and Detroit are in conversations to trade Saddiq Bey, league sources told @YahooSports. The Warriors have shown an increased willingness to move James Wiseman before this afternoon's trade deadline, and the Pistons hold an interest in the former No. 2 pick."

Via Fischer's second tweet: "Sounds like the Warriors are weighing an offer from Detroit against other win-now trade opportunities on the wing."

Bey was the 19th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 52 games.

The 23-year-old could be a good pickup for the defending NBA Champions to add depth to their bench.

In addition, the Pistons are the worst team in the Eastern Conference, with a 14-42 record in 56 games.

Therefore, it makes sense for them to see what they can get for productive players.

The Warriors are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 28-27 record in 55 games.

While they have had an up-and-down season, there is no question that no one will want to face them in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

They have won the NBA Championship in four out of the last eight seasons (and been to the NBA Finals six times in that span).
