Golden State Warriors Reportedly Make 2 Roster Decisions
UPDATE: The Golden State Warriors have officially announced both moves.
The Golden State Warriors have a 3-1 record in their first four games and are coming off a 130-102 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday evening.
On Tuesday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the team picked up the fourth-year options of Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga.
The moves come as no surprise, and both players will now play for the Warriors next season and then become restricted free agents in the summer of 2025.
Via Scotto: "The Golden State Warriors have exercised the team’s fourth-year options on Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, league sources told @hoopshype. Kuminga will earn $7.63 million and Moody will earn $5.8 million for the 2024-25 season."
Kuminga was the seventh pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and is coming off a year where he averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 52.5% from the field and 37.0% from the three-point range in 67 regular season games (16 starts).
Meanwhile, Moody was the 14th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and is coming off a season where he averaged 4.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range in 63 games (three starts).
Both players helped the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics.
The Warriors will play their next game against the Sacramento Kings (at home) on Wednesday night.
Last season, they were the sixth seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
