BREAKING: Andrew Wiggins Out For Remainder Of Regular Season

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said on Wednesday that Andrew Wiggins will miss the team's final two regular season games.

Following a 51-day hiatus due to a personal family matter, All-Star forward All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins returned to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday ahead of their matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a game the Warriors won.

However, Wiggins did not play in this game and he is expected to work with the training staff and coaches over the next week in order to prepare for a return to the court.

On Wednesday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco and stated that Wiggins would not be available for the team's final two games of the regular season.

"He scrimmaged today with our younger guys and coaches, so full court five-on-five, and he looked good," Kerr said. "One thing with Andrew is that he's just got that God given athleticism and he's one of those guys who just doesn't seem to get tired very easily. … He hasn't played in two months and he's out there running around and looking pretty good. He still has to stack a number of days like this before he’s ready to go out and play in an NBA game. Health-wise, we can’t put him in a bad spot.

"He's not going to play in these last two games of the regular season, but he will continue to work and wrap it up pretty quickly."

While Golden State fans will be sad to hear this news, this is certainly a good sign for the Warriors and Andrew Wiggins.

Conditioning and staying in shape while he was away from the team attending to his private family matter, Wiggins always intended on coming back to the team this season and now, they will get him back in time for the playoffs as the Warriors look to defend their title.

Playing in a total of 37 games this season, Andrew Wiggins has averaged 17.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting a career-best 39.6 percent from three-point range.

With two games remaining on their schedule, the Warriors control their own destiny at this point in regards to avoiding the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.

A win in their next game on Friday night on the road against the Sacramento Kings would go a long way in the Warriors having a chance to clinch either the 5-seed or 6-seed in the Western Conference.
