On Monday night, the Memphis Grizzlies are hosting the Dallas Mavericks in Tennessee.

However, they will remain without their best player Ja Morant, who has been ruled out due to conditioning.

Underdog NBA: "Ja Morant (conditioning) ruled out for Monday."

The All-Star point guard had been suspended eight games by the NBA, and he is now eligible to return.

That said, needing time to get back into playing shape after an extended time away from the team makes sense.

Before the suspension, Morant had been in the middle of another phenomenal season with averages of 27.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest in 53 games (while shooting 46.3% from the field).

He is in his fourth season in the NBA and has helped the Grizzlies become one of the best teams in the league.

They are currently tied with the Sacramento Kings for the second seed in the Western Conference and have a 43-27 record in 70 games.

Over the last ten games, the Grizzlies are 6-4, and they are on a two-game winning streak.

At home, they have been outstanding, going 29-5 in 34 games hosted in Tennessee.

As for the Mavs, they are the sixth seed in the west with a 36-35 record in 71 games.

They are 4-6 in their last ten games but also on a two-game winning streak.

On the road, the Mavs have struggled in a big way, going just 14-21 in the 35 games they have played away from Dallas, Texas.
