Jamal Murray's Brutally Honest Quote Following Denver Nuggets Game 2 Loss

Jamal Murray met with the media after the Denver Nuggets lost Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

On Sunday evening, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets lost Game 2 of the NBA Finals to the Miami Heat by a score of 111-108 on their home floor at Ball Arena in Colorado.

Murray is having an excellent postseason and had 18 points, four rebounds, ten assists and one steal while shooting 7/15 from the field in 39 minutes of playing time.

After the game, the former Kentucky star met with the media and shared a very honest quote.

Murray: "We just weren't as disciplined as we need to be at this stage of the season."

In addition, the 26-year-old gave another candid answer later during the presser.

Reporter: "Coach came out, and the first thing he wanted to touch on was effort and said he talked to you guys about that. Why do you think the effort was an issue, at least in his mind?"

Murray: "I don't know. They just played hard. Like I said, it was more discipline. It's defeating when you're giving up mistake after mistake, and it's not them beating you. You're giving them open dunks, you're giving them open shots, so that's tough to come back from and we just gotta stay together and look ahead."

During the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Murray has sensational averages of 27.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 48.0% from the field and 39.1% from the three-point range.

The series is now tied up at 1-1 and Games 3 and 4 will be in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday and Friday.
