Jamal Murray Made Denver Nuggets History Against Spurs

Jamal Murray made Denver Nuggets history during Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Denver Nuggets faced off against the San Antonio Spurs in Texas.

The Nuggets got off to an excellent start to the game and won the first quarter by a score of 37-18.

They ultimately defeated the Spurs (117-106), and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic led the way with 31 points.

Jamal Murray finished his night with 15 points, ten rebounds, seven assists and three steals while shooting 6/16 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time.

The former Kentucky star also made team history by becoming the seventh player to score 8,000 career points.

Fat Lever, David Thompson, Nikola Jokic, Carmelo Anthony and Alex English are the only six players who have scored more points (in Nuggets history) than Murray.

With the victory, the Nuggets improved to 47-20 in 67 games, which has them as the first seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a five-game winning streak and are 9-1 over their last ten games.

Following the Spurs, the Nuggets will visit the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon.

Murray was the seventh pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and is in his seventh season playing in the league.
