Golden State Warriors Make Roster Move Before Knicks Game

The Golden State Warriors made a roster move before Monday's game.

On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks at the Chase Center in San Francisco. 

Before the game, the Warriors announced that they had made a roster move by recalling Gui Santos from the Santa Cruz Warriors (G League).  

Via Golden State Warriors PR: "The Warriors have recalled forward Gui Santos from the team’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors."

Santos was the 55th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his first season playing in the league. 

He is currently averaging 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range in 17 games. 

Santos has spent a lot of time in the G League and is averaging 14.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range in 13 regular season games. 

The 21-year-old also appeared in 15 Showcase Cup games. 

As for the Warriors, they come into the evening as the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 35-31 record in 66 games. 

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently defeated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 128-121.

Following New York, the Warriors will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they host the Memphis Grizzlies at the Chase Center. 

Meanwhile, the Knicks are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-27 record in 67 games.
