James Harden Made NBA History In Clippers-Cavs Game

James Harden moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are playing the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio.

2018 MVP James Harden is appearing in his 1,040th game, which ties Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson for 125th on the all-time regular season games played list.

Following Robertson, the next players for Harden to pass will be DeAndre Jordan (1,042) and Danny Ainge (1,042).

Harden entered the evening with averages of 17.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 40.9% from the three-point range in 39 games.

The Clippers are among the best teams in the league and have a 30-14 record in their first 44 games, which has them as the third seed in the Western Conference.

They are also in the middle of a five-game winning streak and are 8-2 over their last ten games.

Most recently, the Clippers had a commanding 115-96 victory over Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics (on the road).

Following the Cavs, they will travel to Washington, D.C., to face off against Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards on Wednesday evening.

Harden was the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Arizona State.

Over 15 seasons in the league, he has played for the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers (in addition to Los Angeles).

His career averages are 24.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.2% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.
