James Harden Made NBA History In Grizzlies-Clippers Game

On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Memphis Grizzles in California. 

James Harden is playing in his 1,026th career game, which ties Grant Hill and Reggie Theus for 132nd on the all-time regular season games played list

Following Theus and Hill, the next player for Harden to pass will be Joe Smith (1,030). 

In addition, Harden moved ahead of Lenny Wilkens for 16th on the NBA's all-time assists list.  

Following Wilkens, the next player for Harden to pass will be Maurice Cheeks (7,392).

Harden came into the evening with averages of 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 47.0% from the field and 43.4% from the three-point range in 25 games.  

The Clippers are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with an 18-12 record in their first 30 games.

Following the Grizzlies, they will remain at home to host Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat on Monday night in Los Angeles. 

Harden was the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Arizona State and is in his 15th season in the league.  

He is a ten-time NBA All-Star and won the 2018 MVP Award. 

The future Hall of Famer has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder. 

His career averages are 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.
