James Harden Made NBA History In Nets-Clippers Game

James Harden made NBA history during Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Brooklyn Nets in California.  

During the game, 2018 MVP James Harden made NBA history by moving ahead of Doc Rivers for sole possession of 38th on the all-time steals list.   

Following Rivers, the next player for Harden to pass will be Terry Porter (1,583). 

Harden came into the evening with averages of 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 41.9% from the three-point range in 35 games.  

The Clippers are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 26-14 record in their first 40 games. 

They are 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 128-117. 

In 41 minutes of playing time, Harden had 16 points, five rebounds, eight assists and one block while shooting 5/14 from the field and 4/10 from the three-point range. 

Following Sunday's matchup with the Nets, the Clippers will host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday evening. 

Harden was the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Arizona State and is in his 15th season in the league. 

In addition to Los Angeles, Harden has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. 

The ten-time NBA All-Star has career averages of 24.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.2% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.
