James Harden Made NBA History In Pelicans-Clippers Game

James Harden moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the New Orleans Pelicans in California. 

James Harden is playing in his 1,009th career regular season game, which ties Ron Harper for 138th on the all-time list

Following Harper, the next player for Harden to pass will be Jermaine O'Neal (1,011). 

Harden comes into the evening with averages of 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 48.1% from the field and 37.2% from the three-point range in eight games. 

The Clippers are 6-7 in their first 13 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and most recently defeated the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 109-102. 

In 36 minutes of playing time, Harden had 16 points, six rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one block while shooting 3/7 from the field and 2/4 from the three-point range. 

Following the Pelicans, the Clippers will play their next game against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks (at home) on Saturday evening.

Harden was the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Arizona State and is in his 15th season in the league. 

The 2018 MVP has made the All-Star Game ten times and has career averages of 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.2% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range. 

He has also appeared in 160 NBA playoff games and helped the Oklahoma City Thunder make the NBA Finals in 2012.
