Jimmy Butler Made NBA History In Heat-Spurs Game

Jimmy Butler made NBA history during Sunday's game.

On Sunday evening, the Miami Heat are in Texas facing off against the San Antonio Spurs.

During the game, Jimmy Butler made NBA history by becoming the 325th player to make 600 career three-pointers.

Butler came into the evening with averages of 18.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.2% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point range in seven games.

The Heat are 5-4 in their first nine games, and most recently defeated the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia by a score of 117-109 (Butler did not play in the game).

Bam Adebayo led the team with 26 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks while shooting 9/12 from the field in 39 minutes of playing time.

Butler is a talented scorer but has never been known for his three-point shooting.

The 34-year-old has shot 32.4% from the three-point range (on 2.4 attempts per game) for his career.

He is in his fifth season with Miami and has led them to the Eastern Conference Finals three times (and the NBA Finals twice) in the previous four seasons.

Last year, Butler averaged 22.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 35.0% from the three-point range in 64 games.

Following the Spurs, the Heat will play their next game against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina.
