Joe Mazzulla's Brutally Honest Quote After Celtics-Heat Game

Joe Mazzulla met with the media after the Boston Celtics lost Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

On Sunday evening, the Boston Celtics got blown out by the Miami Heat (128-102) in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on the road in Florida.

The Celtics also lost both Games 1 and 2 on their home floor in Boston, so they trail the Heat 0-3 in the series.

After the tough loss, head coach Joe Mazzulla met with the media and shared an honest quote.

Reporter: "Joe, the biggest game of the season, a game you had to have and you guys just looked completely lost after the first six minutes. What exactly happened out there?"

Mazzulla: "I just didn't have them ready to play."

Mazzulla is in his first season at the helm and is the youngest coach in the entire NBA (34).

That said, he helped lead the Celtics to a 57-25 record during the regular season, which got them the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

In the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs, they defeated the Atlanta Hawks (in six games) and the Philadelphia 76ers (in seven games).

Last year, the team made the NBA Finals and they are also in the Conference Finals for the fifth time in the previous seven seasons.

Game 4 will be back in Miami on Tuesday evening, and the Celtics will need a victory to avoid getting swept.

The winner of the series will advance to the NBA Finals and face off against either the Denver Nuggets or the Los Angeles Lakers (the Nuggets lead the series 3-0).
