Joel Embiid's Viral Instagram Post After Spurs-76ers Game
On Monday evening, Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the San Antonio Spurs (at home) by a score of 133-123.
Embiid was brilliant, as he put up 70 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block while shooting 24/41 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range in 37 minutes of playing time.
Following the game, the 2023 MVP made a post to Instagram that had over 384,000 likes in less than 13 hours.
Embiid captioned his post: "KOBE!!! 70 Piece"
Embiid's 70-point game was also on the 18-year anniversary of Kobe Bryant scoring 81 points.
With the victory, the 76ers improved to 29-13 in their first 42 games, which has them as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are in the middle of a six-game winning streak and are 7-3 over their last ten games.
Following Monday's game with the Spurs, the 76ers will now travel to Indiana to face off against Pascal Siakam and the Pacers on Thursday evening.
Embiid is averaging an unbelievable 36.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.9 blocks per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range in 32 games.
Embiid is only in his eighth season playing in the NBA, but he is a future Hall of Famer and among the best centers of all time.
He has led the 76ers to the NBA playoffs in each of the previous six seasons, and they are coming off a year where they lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round.
