John Collins Posts Instagram Message After Getting Traded From Hawks To Jazz

John Collins made a post to Instagram after being traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Utah Jazz.

John Collins is coming off his sixth season in the NBA, where he averaged 13.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 50.8% from the field in 71 games for the Atlanta Hawks.

The talented forward has spent his entire career with Atlanta, but this summer, he was traded to the Utah Jazz

On Monday, Collins made a post to Instagram with his first comments about the trade.

Via Collins: "ATL…..I know….. I took my time with this one. But this one definitely stung. Being thrown into this fire as a kid, having no clue of the journey in front of me. It’s amazing how 6 years can fly by. Atlanta, Thank you for the Swag, the Culture, the LOVE, and thank you for embracing the kid with open arms. Atlanta thank you for never taking it easy on me. Because I am proud to leave you as a man! 🍑❤️

To the Organization. Thank you for sticking with me, even at my lowest. Thank you for allowing me a place to grow. But as I see ,it is this hawks time to fly away from the nest. As my growth here is being stunted. 🕊️

To all of my brothers and OG’s that I’ve been blessed to share the court with, y’all all know how I’m rockin….🤞🏽4L

But as we know this is a business. And my business in Atlanta has come to an end. I can only hope y’all love me like I do y’all! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Until next time……BAPTIST OUT! ✌🏽#Takenote 🏔️💜💙💛"

Collins had helped the Hawks make the NBA playoffs for three straight seasons, and in 2021, they went to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Meanwhile, the Jazz are coming off a season where they were the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record (the franchise missed the NBA playoffs for the first time in six years).

Collins has career averages of 15.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 55.1% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point range in 364 games (he has also appeared in 29 NBA playoff games).
