Jonathan Kuminga's Cryptic Tweet Before Lakers-Warriors Game
The Golden State Warriors are in the middle of a second-round playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers (Game 2 is on Thursday evening at the Chase Center in San Francisco).
In the first round, the defending NBA Champions defeated the Sacramento Kings, and they are currently down 1-0 to the Lakers after losing Game 1 on their home floor by a score of 117-112 on Monday evening.
Jonathan Kuminga, who was the seventh pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, has seen limited playing time to start the playoffs.
He has appeared in six of their eight games and only averaged 6.0 minutes of playing time per contest (he did not play in Game 1).
Before Game 2, the 21-year-old sent out a tweet that is gaining a lot of traction on Twitter.
Kuminga quote tweeted a post from Legion Hoops and wrote: "Huh?! Lol Any Way Game 2 Let’s Gooo!!"
The tweet from Legion Hoops has been deleted, but a supposed screenshot can be seen below.
Legion Hoops appeared to have posted a quote Kuminga said in an interview with C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Kuminga averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 52.5% from the field and 37.0% from the three-point range during the regular season (he averaged 20.8 minutes of playing time).
As a rookie (last season), Kuminga helped the Warriors win the NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics.
He averaged 5.2 points and 1.7 rebounds during the 2022 playoffs (in 8.6 minutes of playing time).
