NBA Champion Leaves G League Team To Play Overseas

Jordan Bell, who won an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors, agreed to a contract buyout with the Indiana Mad Ants (G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers).

Jordan Bell has spent the year in the G League playing for the Indiana Mad Ants.

The former Oregon star is averaging 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.7 blocks per contest while shooting 64.6% from the field and 22.7% from the three-point range in 22 games (12 starts).  

On Monday, the Mad Ants announced that Bell would be leaving the team (via contract buyout) to play overseas. 

Via Indiana Mad Ants Staff: "The Indiana Mad Ants, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, have made a roster change as Jordan Bell has left the team via buyout to pursue an international opportunity."

Bell most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he appeared in one game for the Chicago Bulls.  

Initially, Bell was the 38th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft after playing three seasons of college basketball for Oregon. 

He spent his first two and half seasons with the Golden State Warriors and helped them win the 2018 NBA Championship over the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

In addition to the Warriors and Bulls, Bell has also spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies over his five seasons in the NBA.  

His career averages are 3.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 55.2% from the field and 20.0% from the three-point range in 161 regular season games. 

He has also appeared in 32 NBA playoff games (two starts). 

It's unclear what team he will end up playing for next.
