Klay Thompson's Bold Statement After Warriors-Jazz Game

Klay Thompson met with the media after Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors won their final game before the All-Star break against the Utah Jazz by a score of 140-137 (in Salt Lake City).

Before the game, there was surprising news that Klay Thompson would come off the bench for the first time since the 2012 season.

However, the five-time NBA All-Star responded in a significant way by putting up 35 points, six rebounds and two assists while shooting 13/22 from the field and 7/13 from the three-point range in just 28 minutes of playing time.

After the game, Thompson met with the media and shared an encouraging statement (h/t Warriors on NBCS).

Thompson: "I found out this morning. Me and Steve had a good talk about it. You can do two things, you can pout, or you can go out there and respond and I thought I did the latter very well tonight."

Thompson is now averaging 17.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range in 50 games.

He is in his 11th season in the league and is one of the best shooting guards of all time, but he has had an up-and-down season.

That said, the future Hall of Famer's new role off the bench could end up being the spark he needs.

With the victory, the Warriors improved to 27-26 in 53 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 8-2 over their last ten games.
