Klay Thompson Made Golden State Warriors History In Game 3

Klay Thompson made Golden State Warriors history during Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

UPDATE: The Lakers defeated the Warriors 127-97, and Thompson finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one block.

On Saturday evening, Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.

Thompson made team history during the game by scoring his 3,000th career Playoff point.

The former Washington State star is only the second player in the history of the Warriors franchise to reach that milestone.

Via The Warriors: "Klay Thompson has surpassed 3,000 career playoff points

He joins Stephen Curry as the only Warriors to reach the milestone."

In addition, Thompson is only the 28th player in the history of the NBA to reach 3,000 career Playoff points.

The five-time All-Star has spent his entire career with the Warriors and helped them win the NBA Championship four times in the previous eight seasons (they have also been to the NBA Finals six times during that span).

Thompson is from Los Angeles, but this is his first time ever facing off against the Lakers in a playoff-series.

The 33-year-old came into the night with averages of 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 40.0% from the three-point range through the first nine games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

After Games 1 and 2 in San Francisco at the Chase Center, the two teams are tied up at 1-1.

Since Games 3 and 4 are in Los Angeles, the Warriors will need to win at least one game on the road to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole.

They are the sixth seed in the Western Conference and defeated the Sacramento Kings in the first round
